The University of Alberta Students’ Union (UASU) will host the Edmonton Student Alliance’s Mayoral Forum on Friday, October 10th, 2025 at the Myer Horowitz Theatre in the Students' Union Building at the University of Alberta. This event will provide students with an opportunity to hear directly from the top mayoral candidates.
The forum will feature Andrew Knack, Michael Walters, Rahim Jaffer and Tim Cartmell, and the forum will be moderated by former CBC Radio host Mark Connolly. Doors will open at 5:00 p.m., with the forum starting at 5:30 p.m. and concluding at 7:00 p.m. The forum will also be live-streamed on UASU social media.
“As post-secondary students, we have a real stake in this election and in shaping Edmonton’s future,” said Abdul Abbasi, UASU Vice President (External). “On issues like housing, transit safety or affordability, municipal government affects students' lives on a day-to-day basis. This forum provides students with an opportunity to come and ask questions and ensure their voices are heard in this election."
“The municipal government's decisions shape the city we live, learn and work in,” said UASU President Pedro Almeida. “This forum is part of the UASU’s non-partisan Get Out the Vote Campaign to make sure students' voices are heard and students are using our civic rights to engage and vote.”
We invite all members of the campus and the Edmonton community to attend the event. The UASU is committed to advocating for students at all levels of government.
