Overnight Oats Recipe

Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup oats
- 3/4 cup milk of your choice (plant-based/regular milk/lactose-free milk)
- 1 tsp chia seeds (optional)
- 1 tsp ground flax seeds (optional)
- 1 pinch of salt
- 1/4 cup plain/greek yogurt/plant-based yogurt (optional but makes it creamy!)
- 1 tbsp maple syrup/honey/your choice of sweetener (optional)
Possible flavours/additions:
Chocolate Peanut Butter
- add 1 tbsp cacao powder
- add 1 tbsp peanut butter
Mocha
- add 2 tsp espresso/instant coffee
- add 1 tbsp cacao powder
Banana Bread
- add 1/2 to 1/3 mashed banana
- add 3-4 tsp chocolate chips
- add 2 tbsp walnuts/pecans
Protein
- simply add one scoop of your go-to protein powder and ensure you mix it in well
Carrot Cake
- add 1/4 cup grated carrots
- substitute the plain yogurt for vanilla flavoured (optional)
- add shredded coconut
Chocolate Chip
- substitute the plain yogurt for vanilla flavoured (optional)
- add 3-4 tsp chocolate chips
Chai
- add 1/4 tsp ground ginger
- add 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
- add 1/4 tsp ground cloves
Directions:
- Combine all the ingredients in a jar. Shake/mix with a spoon to ensure everything is mixed well.
- Allow to sit in the fridge overnight.
- In the morning, mix everything once more and top with anything else you would like such as frozen/fresh fruit. You can also top them with hemp seeds and/or maple syrup flakes.
Note: the overnight oats can last 4-5 days in the fridge, which is perfect if you would like to prep them in advance for the week in jars!
