It is hard to believe that our terms as executives are two thirds complete! As an executive team we have been hard at work accomplishing our goals of creating a welcoming university for students, supporting student culture, bringing students back to campus, and advocating for a predictable and affordable future. Below, please find a brief update on our goals to date. We will be working even harder in the coming four months to serve students.

In addition to all of our individual goals, we have had many team successes this year. As an executive team, we have made a strong commitment to transparency. Every member of our executive team has dedicated social media pages which are used to communicate information with students, we have all hosted fall job shadow days and will also host them in winter semester, we have all had regular office hours, as a team we have posted trimesterly updates, we have hosted online and physical town halls, and we collectively have a near perfect average in submitting our council reports. These initiatives have never been executed as a team before. As President, I chair our Executive Committee meetings and I believe that our teamwork has enabled us to be the most effective advocates we can be. As an executive, we discuss all work collaboratively which enables us to make the best decisions possible. As a team, we have also accomplished many wins that were above and beyond our executive goals document. These include renovating Room at The Top, establishing regular meetings with various University administrators, creating a campus activities board, getting out the vote in the municipal election, and being increasingly involved in academic governance. These are a few examples of work that the executives are doing in addition to their platform goals and portfolio responsibilities. I am very proud of the work that the four Vice-Presidents have done, if you would like more detailed reports of the executives day-to-day work, you can read our bi-weekly council reports here.

The role of the executive is to guide the Students' Unions day-to-day operations to best serve students. This includes advocating to the government and university, providing services and events, managing businesses and a building, as well as fostering a community amongst students. You can learn more about the Students' Union here.

As always, if you have questions or would like to talk to an executive, their contact information will be left below. We hope all University of Alberta students are excited to start the winter semester.
